This photo of Greece is wayyyy better than the pic of Eiffel 65 I was going to post. Remember them? "I'm blue, da ba dee da ba die, da ba dee da ba die," etc. That hot hit from the late 90s was completely stuck in my head as soon as I began this post. You dancin' yet?
Just me?
This is my debut with Greek blue! Never in the last 5 years have I used such an intensely bright color. There's no goin' back now! And this set is comin' with the StyleMutt Home gals to the Sweet Clover barn sale the weekend of August 21-23! They've been gracious enough to offer us a pop-up booth and basically 'guest sell' from their gorgeous barn that weekend! We are completely delighted/thrilled/stressed/eating way more ice cream than usual in anticipation of this exciting event!
I found this crazy beautiful table sitting outside a junk shop one day a few years ago and had it in my head that we'd move into a new house with a breakfast nook just the perfect size for it someday. Well, either I've wised up or my heart has turned to stone, because I think such purchases for 'someday, maybe, if' border on irresponsible spending. I adore this table, but we have no place for it in our current home, and with no plans to move and nowhere to store it, it was just taking up space. Are you still with me or have I just lost all the 'someday, maybe, if' dreamers out there...
I perked up the table with a couple coats of Rustoleum's Protective Gloss Enamel in white, and gave the chairs my favorite layered chippy look with the same white, followed by Behr's 'Brilliant Blue', followed by more white.
And lookie what I found - cheap help!!! ;) This girl could carry StyleMutt Home on her shoulders today if we let her. She's got it all down!
Then came my favorite part - getting it to look all chippy and weathered! I threw on my trusty disposable latex gloves, grabbed an old brush and used Behr's Wood Stain and Finish Stripper to peel off the layers of latex paint. I just painted on the brown glop from the jug, (do this outside, it's super potent!), then used a hose to remove the layers of paint - it seriously came right off! NO sanding! Is this rocking your world as much as it's rocking mine?!
Stay tuned for a peek at the rest of the collection we're bringing to Sweet Clover! And mark your calendars local friends! August 21-23! More deets comin' soon. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by!
