Welcome to the sweetest neighborhood in NW Washington DC! A few short blocks from Rock Creek Park, this sweet single family home has seen some transition over the years. When we met, my clients’ kiddos were officially past the toddler stage and she was ready for her home to reflect that. I love helping families get the most of their homes at any stage, but I especially admire and respect the courage it takes to close one chapter of your home to start a fresh one. While the design of this family room is a level up in sophistication from where it started, it’s still incredibly casual and kid friendly. I chose performance fabrics for both the sofa and chair so spills are not a concern, and the coffee table being cement makes it not only wipeable, but I’ve heard it’s climber friendly as well ;) Having an adult friendly space in your home does not have to be at the sacrifice of durability, safety, or comfort! This space is heavily used and continues to hold family time effortlessly.
